It started with one video
It started in September 2013 with a video about responsive web design. Then local meetups. Then workshops across the country. Then three years hosting a live game show at Webflow Conf.
Rooms got bigger. The job stayed the same: make the complicated thing make sense.
Hi, I’m Nelson
I like being the person who makes the first step feel possible.
I’ve been teaching people to build on the web since 2013. I started on my own YouTube channel, Pixel Geek, making tutorials and answering questions on Webflow’s official forums. That’s how Webflow found me and hired me.
I was employee #14 at Webflow from 2015–2023. From 2015–2021, I was a customer support rep. During that time I created and hosted Webflow’s first meetup in San Diego and built it into their global meetup program: 2,000+ members, multiple chapters worldwide. I also traveled the US leading hands-on workshops at AIGA chapters and Webflow meetups.
I hosted Webflow Workshops, their live virtual training program, on Webflow’s official YouTube channel across all eight years. From 2021–2023, I was Senior Product Evangelist, producing and hosting the Speed Build Challenge, a live game show at Webflow Conf, three years running (2021, 2022, 2023). Now I co-run That One Couple with my wife and built NovaUp (novaup.app), shipped to web, iOS, and Android.
